Terms of Service

OpenLayer is free, open-source software. There is no account to create, no subscription, and no payment involved in using it. These terms describe what you're agreeing to by installing and using it.

The software

OpenLayer is licensed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute it under that license's terms. These Terms of Service govern your use of the plugin as distributed through Adobe's Creative Cloud Marketplace (or directly from the project's GitHub releases); they do not replace or restrict the rights the MIT License already grants you over the source code.

Current state: alpha software

OpenLayer is published as a public alpha. Several tools are explicitly marked experimental in the panel and in the release notes — inpainting and outpainting, in particular. Alpha means what it says: functionality can change or break between releases, and you should verify generated results before relying on them, the same as with any other AI image generation tool.

No warranty

OpenLayer is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement — matching the disclaimer in the MIT License itself. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from or in connection with the software or its use.

What you need to bring yourself

OpenLayer does not include ComfyUI, any AI model, or any custom node package. It is a client that connects to a ComfyUI server you install and run yourself, and to model files you download yourself. You are responsible for:

• Complying with the license terms of any model, checkpoint, or LoRA you choose to download and use — several are gated or non-commercial, and OpenLayer's own MIT license does not extend to them.
• Complying with ComfyUI's own license and the licenses of any third-party custom node packages you install.
• The content you generate, and how you use it — including rights, consent, and any applicable law in your jurisdiction.

No data collection, so nothing to promise about it here

See the Privacy Policy for the full detail. In short: OpenLayer collects nothing and sends data only to servers you explicitly configure or download from.

Support

Support is best-effort, through GitHub Issues and Discussions. There is no service-level agreement and no guaranteed response time — this is a solo open-source project.

Changes

These terms may change as the project moves past alpha. Material changes will be noted in the project changelog alongside the "Last updated" date above.
